Real-Time Alerts, Real-Time Action

Vibration and audible alerts trigger instantly when unsafe proximity events occur, giving both operators and pedestrians immediate feedback to prevent incidents. Alerts are configurable by distance, role, and location, with adjustable escalation levels based on your safety protocols.

Build safety rules that match the real world

Build safety rules that match the real world

  • 3D Safety Zones: Trigger alerts only when equipment enters a zone and exceeds a set height (e.g., forklift mast above 3m)
  • Role-Based Access: Mark zones as pedestrian-only or equipment-only, add whitelist authorized workers by role or ID
  • Dynamic Zones: Toggle zones automatically based on shift, scheduled, or operating hours
  • Smart Alerts: Choose between active alarms (haptic, audible, visual) or passive logging for compliance tracking
  • Personal Buffers: Create moving protective bubbles around workers and vehicles for instant proximity alerts.

FAQs

FAQs

What does Quantum RTLS do for collision avoidance?

Quantum RTLS gives safety teams real-time 3D awareness of where people, forklifts, vehicles, equipment, and hazards are inside the operating area.

That lets you create dynamic safety workflows based on distance, zone, timing, vehicle state, load status, direction of travel, and other triggers. The system can warn workers and operators before a pedestrian-equipment interaction becomes a near miss, and it can support site-specific rules for intersections, blind corners, docks, restricted areas, speed zones, and pedestrian-only zones.

How is this different from forklift cameras, radar, or proximity sensors?

Forklift-mounted cameras, radar, and proximity sensors mainly react from the vehicle’s point of view. Quantum RTLS creates a facility-wide positioning layer, so you know where the worker is, where the forklift is, where the event happened, and what led up to it.

That matters for safety programs because the system can show where near misses repeat, where congestion builds, where traffic flow breaks down, and which intersections, aisles, docks, or work zones need attention. In addition to an alerting tool, the system becomes a record of risk across the site.

What do workers wear?

Workers wear a lightweight, rechargeable safety badge. The badge provides real-time location within the Quantum RTLS network and can support worker feedback such as vibration, sound, or visual alerts depending on the configuration.

The goal is to keep it simple for the worker: wear the badge, get warned when conditions become unsafe, and let the system handle the rest.

What can be tracked besides workers?

Quantum RTLS can track forklifts, tuggers, AGVs, overhead cranes, powered industrial trucks, high-risk equipment, restricted zones, and work-in-progress.

For vehicle safety, Mobiles can be mounted to forklifts or other equipment so pedestrian-vehicle distance, zone entry, route behavior, and high-risk interactions can be monitored in real time.

Can safety rules be configured to match our site?

Yes. Safety zones and rules can be configured around your actual operating conditions.

Examples include:

  • Pedestrian-only zones
  • Forklift speed-limited zones
  • Blind-corner warning zones
  • Dock and staging area alerts
  • Restricted-area entry rules
  • High-mass or raised-load travel zones
  • Doorway, intersection, and crossing alerts
  • Time-based or shift-specific safety rules

Rules can be tuned by location, vehicle type, worker role, zone timing, or other operational triggers.

Can the system trigger actions, or does it only alert people?

Quantum RTLS can do more than generate alerts. Depending on the integration, safety events can trigger haptic alerts, audible warnings, visual lights, dashboard events, workflow actions, speed limits, slowdowns, or stops.

For example, a forklift can be slowed in a speed-limited zone, stopped in a pedestrian-only area, or flagged when travelling through a doorway with a raised load. Many teams start with alerts and near-miss logging, then add stronger controls once the safety rules are validated.

Does Quantum RTLS support man-down or lone-worker monitoring?

Yes. Worker badges include 3D position and inertial sensing, which makes it possible to detect events such as a fall, prolonged immobility, or lack of expected movement.

That supports man-down detection, lone-worker monitoring, emergency response, evacuation awareness, and check-in workflows for higher-risk environments.

Can Quantum RTLS be used outdoors or in harsh environments?

Yes. ZeroKey supports safety-focused form factors for indoor and outdoor industrial environments, including IP-rated and intrinsically safe options for industries such as oil and gas, mining, utilities, heavy industry, and large industrial yards.

The exact hardware and coverage design depend on the site, environmental conditions, certification requirements, and whether the use case is indoor, outdoor, or a combination of both.

How is personnel tracking handled for privacy?

Personnel tracking can be configured for safety and operational improvement without becoming individual surveillance. Reporting can be aggregated and anonymized for heatmaps, traffic analysis, near-miss trends, and safety planning.

Tracking only occurs inside the Quantum RTLS network coverage area. Areas that are not covered, such as bathrooms, locker rooms, break areas, or other privacy-sensitive spaces, are not tracked. Coverage design, access controls, and reporting policies can be aligned with union, labor, privacy, and site safety requirements.

How does a deployment work?

A deployment uses fixed Anchors, tracked Mobiles, Gateways, and an Edge Compute Device (ECD).

  • Anchors are installed in the areas where safety monitoring is required.
  • Mobiles are worn by workers as badges or mounted to forklifts, vehicles, equipment, or assets.
  • Gateways coordinate communication between the hardware and software platform.
  • The Edge Compute Device (ECD) runs the positioning network, hosts the software platform and API, and makes safety data available on-premise or through approved integrations.

Most teams start with a high-risk area such as a forklift aisle, dock, staging zone, or pedestrian-equipment crossing. Once the rules, alerts, and reporting are validated, the same infrastructure can expand to more zones and additional use cases.
